Mac OS X Lion

Like most Mac Geeks, I installed Mac OS X Lion on my Mac Pro the other night and last night is the first time I spent any time with it. I aso installed it on all of my other Macs since it’s free to do so for as many Macs as you own (those with Snow Leopard installed). I don’t want to bore you with a review as there are far more competent reviews out there.

I do have some favorite features and some gripes:

  • Being able to resize windows from any corner rocks, just like Windows, but since I use HyperDock and can manage my window sizes much more effectively with Windows 7-style monitor docking, this is not such a big deal.
  • Full-screen apps break multi-monitor support. IMHO, Full-screen apps should not span to the second monitor by default. This should be an explicit choice of the app and the user should have the ability to disable this.
There, that wasn’t too boring, was it?!

  1. I installed in on my Mac Pro too. I really like how they’ve changed Expose to Mission Control and I’m a fan of Launch Pad. The new email is way better and seems to run faster (I’m on my same network at home so nothing else has changed).

I do have a problem that I can get it to install from App Store on my iMac. It says I don’t have enough memory but that’s clearly not the case. Need to figure out a solution to that one.

    So far so good!
