Math Problem

For all of my smart friends. Figure this out and add a comment with your answer.

2 + 3 = 10
7 + 2 = 63
6 + 5 = 66
8 + 4 = 96

Then:

9 + 7 = what?

    The operator is defined as:
    x + y = x*x + x*y

    so, 9 + 7 = 9 * 9 + 9 * 7 = 81 + 63 = 144
