“Isabelle Fuhrman’s Esther would kick Macauley Culkin’s ass”

This is not really a review. I was in the mood for a horror film and I went with The Orphan tonight. The whole reason I wanted to see this movie was the result of a review I read of it when it was out in theaters. I had just not gotten around to renting it. Read this:

Orphan uses pure horror film craftsmanship to make a series of hoary old cliches almost unbearably suspenseful. This is the most committed, downright unpleasant child-from-hell movie imaginable. It makes The Good Son play like Polyanna. Isabelle Fuhrman’s Esther would kick Macauley Culkin’s ass.
